What is Zinc Oxide?
Remember the ''old'' style of zinc that left a thick white film on your skin?
That zinc is referred to as macro zinc, as opposed to the ''new'' zinc that is
lighter in both texture and appearance. This zinc is referred to as micronized zinc or nano zinc.
Since nanotechnology and micronization have been in the news lately, we'd like to provide you with
some assurance regarding the nanotechnology used in the sunscreen we carry.
It is important to note that zinc oxide (as opposed to titanium dioxide) is not toxic to cells,
regardless if it’s in its macro or micro form. The main concern with nano particles used
in sunscreen is their photoreactive properties. This causes the production of free radicals
and is damaging to the cells. The important point to note is that titanium in all of its forms
is photoreactive. Coated Zinc is not photoreactive and therefore does not produce the free
radicals in question. Consequently, we feel that the sunscreens we carry are the safest available.
What Ingredients does this Sunscreen Contain?
Zinc Oxide (coated): We use Nano particle coated Zinc Oxide that is not photoreactive and will not produce hydroxyl ions (free radicals). Coated with ingredients from coconut oil . UV Natural Zinc does not absorb into the blood stream and affect serum zinc levels. Explained in detail on the web site (www.uvnaturalusa.com) Zinc assists in the growth and repair of skin tissue. Acts as a broad spectrum UV (A,B,C) deflector.
Sesame Oil: A valuable moisturizer and skin conditioner rich in Vitamins A and E. High in antioxidants and (Sesamum indicum oil): assists in protection against sun damage. It is also a natural deflector of UV as it has a natural SPF.
Grape Seed Extract: Promotes cell repair, growth and is one of the most powerful antioxidants known. Provides a source (Vitis vinifera(seed) of Vit D and assists in protection against free radical damage from UV radiation.

Macadamia Oil: Closest in comparison to the oil we lose from our skin as we age. Nourishes the skin and locks in moisture - Macadamia ternifolia replenishing fatty acids. Prevents and reduces signs of aging. Works in conjunction with the antioxidants (seed) oil): to retain the integrity of the collagen and elastin in preventing wrinkles and aging.
Safflower Oil High content of omega oils, nourishing to the skin and has a natural SPF. This oil is very rich and assists (Carthamus tictorius oil): in nourishing and moisturizing the skin where sun damage may have already occurred.
Vitamin E: Protects body tissues from breakdown and signs of photo aging. Excellent moisturizer and has scar

Iron Oxides: Primarily used to color the sunscreen without causing it to tint the skin. Macro particle size only.
Bees Wax: Used to assist in the water resistance of the sunscreen.

Vegetable Oil: We use a vegetable oil mix comprising of organic soy bean oil, organic palm oil and organic grape oil.
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides: Derived from a coconut oil source and used an emulsifier.
